In Myanmar’s historical, cultural and almost untouched land, children choose to dedicate their lives to Buddhism and training to become a Monk. With no need for money or materialistic belongings, the Monk’s and children rely on donations of money and food to live. Unfortunately, religion isn’t always the only reason for this lifestyle- many children train to become Monk’s as a way out of poverty, caused by the financial strain of the country. Whilst visiting the monastery, I wanted to show the novices’ daily routine including the signature head shave, laundry chores and more.
